3% Bonus at Toys R Us – Does that get your loyalty?
What do you think?
Toys R Us has a “Christmas Savers Club.” They are offering shoppers the ability to participate in at the register deposits building a promotional gift card with the amount of money you determine.
Now thru Oct. 16th.
When you are finished “saving” up, on Oct. 16th, they add the 3% bonus to your card.
Does this spur you into action?
What’s Cook’in?
Does anyone remember that I Love Lucy episode where she was collecting stamps? Now it’s your turn!
Albertson’s has teamed up with Thomas Professional Cookware to launch a stamp-for-cookware trading program.
Between Aug. 25 and Jan. 11, customers who shop with their Preferred Savings Card
will receive a reward sticker for every $10 spent on eligible purchases.
The stickers are supposed to be collected and placed into a saver card, which can then be redeemed in the store for eight different Thomas Professional Cookware pieces for just a penny each. YeeHaw…that’s right…a penny each!
A little slice of history- In 1953, Albertsons’ parent company, SuperValu Inc., was the first large supermarket chain in the nation to introduce the use of trading stamps from the Gold Bond Trading Stamp Co.
What they say:
“We wanted to find another way to reward our loyal customers at a time when many consumers are cooking at home more,” Klug said. “Our cookware promotion gives customers the opportunity to acquire high-quality essentials for the kitchen just for shopping at their favorite Albertsons store.”
What I say: “Dinner, That’s what’s cook’in! Time to channel I Love Lucy and get some of them stamps”.
BlockBuster or BlockBusted?
I just noticed that I still have an old Blockbuster rewards card floating around – and was thinking about how my life has changed slowly over time to the point that I NEVER use that card anymore. I guess I started avoiding Blockbuster when my kids would complain every time we rented a DVD from there and it was scratched beyond belief…..I moved on to Netflix through the mail. That lasted a year or so until the novelty wore off and our newly arrived movies would sit for months before we thought to watch them. Our newest solution to entertainment is Netflix on demand – through the Wii! What an amazing thing! I don’t have to go online and add my picks to a queue and wait for them to arrive….I just go online through the Wii and there are hundreds of things to choose from – based on my past Netflix history. It’s like Magic! Good bye Blockbuster Card……hello on demand movies!
